Annapurna South Expedition in Nepal

Annapurna South ExpeditionAnnapurna South Expedition in Nepal (7219m.) is very lovely and well-known mountain for climbing in Nepal. Annapurna south situated is north of the Pokhara with huge Annapurna Himalaya range and glorious point together including Hiunchuli (6441m.), Bharha Shikhar (7641m.) Annapurna First (8091m), and others. Renowned and beautiful mountain Fishtail (6997m.) it is not allowed to climb because one of the holy mountain in Nepal is also in Annapurna Himalayan range and 180 degree of view from Ghorepani Poonhill early in the morning with sunrise. Top of Annapurna south with full massive more Annapurna mountain include Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m.), southern side Pokhara valley and unlike local village in countryside. All the way on Annapurna south climbing is difficult and climbers necessary need well skill about climbing which is very important if in case something happen during climbing period. We use normal trekking until Annapurna base camp (4130m.) but we set up higher base camp for Annapurna south specially, acclimatization in usual base camp and try one small peak before climb up to Annapurna south for more acclimatization.

 

Drive to Nayapul from Pokhara and our walking begin in the lower, more moderate region of jungle hillside such as Gurung, Tamang, Magar and others local villages on the way up your expedition. Annapurna South climbing we take you well off the compressed path, on too long, isolated mountain ridge, through exposit jungle and to look around local villages. As we move superior through the rhododendron (National flower of Nepal) forest the views of Annapurna and Machhapuchhre are amazing. and the Modi valley vegetation nice views on reaching Kopra ridge our campsite is right below Mt. Annapurna 1st. We fixed the base camp for climb to Mt. Annapurna South. The camp one is fixed at the 5000 meter. Camp two is set up at 5970 meters, and camp 3 is at 6400m high. After Camp three can be made top. After final climbing trek back to Pokhara takes us via Jhinu hot spring where you can take enjoy and spectacular Annapurna Himalaya view until the trip ending. South face base camp is located 4000 meters and the advance base camp is on west bank of the glacier between Annapurna south and Mt. Himchuli. Climb up to glacier is a little bit tricky channel on all sides. Views of the Annapurna and the massive mass of Mt. Dhaulagiri and Machhapuchhre are entirely magnificent and harmonize many of our unique camp sites during this classic trekking before expedition.

 

Annapurna South Expedition Itinerary

Day 01: Private vehicle drive 5 hours or plane 25 minute to Pokhara and overnight hotel.

Day 02: Private vehicle drive one hours to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedhunga (1540m.) it takes 4 hours walk and overnight hotel.

Day 03: Trek to Ghorepani (2850m.) it takes 6 hours walk and overnight hotel.

Day 04: Morning up to Poonhill back to Hotel and continue to Tadapani (2590m.) it takes 6 hours wal and overnight hotel.
Day 05: Trek to Sinuwa (2340m.) it takes 6 hours walk and overnight hotel.

Day 06: Trek to Deurali (3200m.) it takes 6 hours walk and overnight hotel.

Day 07: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m.) (ABC) via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC) 3700m.) it takes 5-6 hours walk and overnight Hotel.

Day 08: Rest and acclimatization in Annapurna Base Camp and overnight hotel.

Day 9-14: Small peak climbing period for more acclimatization and overnight tent camp.

Day 14-39: Annapurna First Expedition (8091m.) period and overnight tent camp.

Day 40-46: Same way walk down until Chhomrong and different way down Jhinu, Deurali, Pothana, Dhampus, Pokhara and back to Kathmandu and overnight hotel.
