Ganga Jamuna TrekkingGanga Jamuna trekking is located of Dhading district it is in north west part of Nepal, where you can enjoy your holiday in Nepal. Only possible for camping (Recently we arrange home stay program there in March, April, May and September, October and November) because there are no tea house facility available. It is completely camping trekking region. This area is inhabited by many mixed cultures and ethnic groups and adorned by lush green forests, pure white water falls gushing down the rocky cliffs from high mountains and magnificent views of snow-capped mountain ranges of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Buddha Himal, Langtang and part of Annaparna Range. While, this trek route is popular among local pilgrims visit the twin sister deities Ganga and Jamuna, the area is fairly untouched by any signs of modernism as hardly any outsiders visit here. So, wonderful experience to travel here, intermingle with the ever-smiling hospitable people, understand their culture and lifestyle. This is a purely camping and moderate trekking. You pass different villages where you can interact with the different communities groups of Nepal such as Newar, Gurung, Brahmin, Chhetri and few others. The trails offers you a glimpse of the culture and unchanged tradition of these people from North of Dhading dictrict it in north west from Kathmandu valley.

 

The magnificent Himalaya peaks you can enjoy are Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Himalchuli, Annapurna, Shringi Himal, Lamjung Himal, Manaslu and many other unnamed mountains and peaks. While trekking you find this trail is enriched with attractive flora and fauna. You pass Rhododendron (National Flower of Nepal), pine forests with other natural vegetation. These forests are home of various species of birds and wild animals. This trail offers you a visit to Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage site as well. The famous Tripura Sundari Temple in Salyankot just south of Ganga Jamuna where there is held a big fair from time to time. Hindu supporter offer especial prayer and animal sacrifice to the divinity. Numerous Buddhist Monasteries and chortens preserve the distinct culture and tradition. Another attraction of this trek is that you visit Ganga Jamuna which is a twin waterfall. There is a Kukur Dhara (Dog Spring) and it is believed that taking a dip into this will rid you from rabies. Ganga Jamuna is Hindu pilgrimage site where a famous fair is held around the temple before three days of full moon day during the first week of November. Here is a holy stone that is highly revered by the Hindu devotees and local people. It is believed that this holy stone preserves the divine power as water originates from there and people will have fully enjoy on his/her holiday in Nepal.

 

6 days Ganga Jamuna Trek itinerary

Day 01:- Kathmandu to Fulkharka (1720m.) by bus ten hours, Private jeep six hours drive.

Day 02:- Rest day long drive from begin Kathmandu to Fulkharka look around local village.

Day 03:- Trekking to Ganga Jamuna (2650m.) it takes four hours. Path to Ganga Jamuna between local village, small forest and nearly end of the village you can see really nice view south side where you start your trek and lot’s of ther village too. Ganga Jmuna sister gods of Hundus culture and both are female gods. Ganga is older sister (we call Didi from Nepalese language) Jamuna is younger sister (we call Baine from Nepalese language).

Day 04:- Trekking to Jyamrung (950m.) it takes six to seven hours. All the way path but not steep down walk between local village, small forest, small river, camp is close to River.

Day 05:- Rest and swimming in river and relax whole day in Local village around there.

Day 06:- Trekking to Jyamrung dada (1650m.) visit old king palace, this palace is from fifteen sixteen centaury, Jyamrung dada, also you can see Ganesh Himal (mountain) this day, walk continue to Gola Bhanjyang and local bus or private car/Lancruiser to Kathmandu.
