
Trekking in Kanchenjunga area to open trekkers in 1988, though people have trekked in the area in connection with mountaineering expeditions since the turn of the century. Kanchenjunga is a long way from Kathmandu, and the nearest roads and airports are a long way from the mountain. You can trek either north or south Kanchenjunga base camp, but it takes luck, determination and a lot of time to visit both sides of the peak. The northern side is particularly remote; it takes almost two weeks of walking to get to the base camp at Pang Pema. Amazing peaks are to be found in this far eastern part of Nepal bordering Sikkim- the north- east of India. Kanchenjunga (8586m) is the third highest mountain in the world. A journey to this area is a special treat. Starting from the tropical lowlands through great rhododendron (National flower of Nepal) forests and the lovely villages of east Nepal up to the glacier and overwhelming views. Kanchenjunga itself is known as "five great treasure of snow" This recently opened destination provides you with an adventure which will stay with you forever. Kanchenjunga trek is one of the most remote and beautiful areas in Nepal, which, unused to foreign visitors, still lies shrouded in mystery. The features of the walk in are pleasant villages with different ethnic groups then, in the high regions, glorious mountains and abundant wildlife. The trails climb from 1200m to 5180m above sea level. Return trek follows mostly the same route, everything looks different in reverse and you are likely to see many things missed on the walking.
Though the trek is not unduly strenuous and the height gain is gradual, the cumulative effects of altitude and walking day after day create their own challenges. This trek usually starts with a long drive from Kathmandu to Bashantapur. There is flight facility from Kathmandu to Sukhetar but they don’t have reliably regular flights. This trekking region is affirmed as the gift of the earth full of alpine lawn lands, stony outcrop, dense temperate and sub-tropical jungle and lower river valley. It is located north in north eastern part of Nepal boundary line with Tibet, China and India. Acclimatize time before four thousand meters and you slowly and not likely high altitude sickness. Though you are request to check your high altitude fitness and the route. We propose you to make stronger your knee strength and get ready for further days all the way up and down. This charming area offer the outstanding show of flowering different types of flower, orchids, lilies and a lot of other flowers. Kanchenjunga Conservation Area increase in an area of 2035 square Kilometers. Please note that the following plan is ready in the fact basis though can be modify in some situation but adjustment will have to made during the trek. This trekking is plan for organize arrangement, all is handle by our team guide, cooks, sherpas, porters who carry all gear for camping every day and have hot meals waiting for you at every day in lunch place. The region has a rich variety of flora and fauna including snow leopard, Himalayan black bear, musk deer red panda and others.
Day 1/2: Drive to Basantapur (1920m.) by local bus. 20 hours by bus & car/vanbus 16 but it depend of traffic on the way and overnight hotel / lodge.
Day 03: Trek to Chauki (2400m.) it takes five and half hours walk and overnight tent camp.
Day 04: Trek to Gurja Gaon (2145m.) it takes five hours walk and overnight tent camp.
Day 05: Trek to Dovan (730 m.) it takes five hours walk where you see one the of famous river it call Tamur Kosi is also rafting in same rive and overnight tent camp.
Day 06: Trek to Mitlung (950m.) it takes five and half hours walk and overnight tent camp.
Day 07: Trek to Chirwa (1200m.) it takes six hours walk and overnight tent camp.
Day 08: Trek to Sekathum (1650m.) five and half to six hours walk and overnight tent camp.
Day 09: Trek to Amjilesa (2510m.) five & half hours walk and overnight tent camp.
Day 10: Trek to Gyapla (2960m.) six hours walk and over night tent camp.
Day 11: Trek to Ghunsa (3500m.) five and half to six hours walk and overnight tent camp.
Day 12: Acclimatization in Ghunsa. Small sightseeing around Ghunsa, overnight tent camp.
Day 13: Trek to Kambachen (4150m.) it takes six hours walk and overnight tent camp.
Day 14: Trek to Lhonak (4760m.) five and half to six hours walk and overnight tent camp.
Day 15: Trek to Pangpema (5160m.), back to Lhonak, six hrs walk and overnight tent camp.
Day 16: Trek to Ghunsa (3500m.) 7 hrs for good sleep in low level walk, overnight tent camp.
Day 17: Trek to Amjilesa (2500m.) it takes six to seven hours walk and overnight tent camp.
Day 18: Trek to Chiruwa (1200m.) it takes six to seven hours walk and overnight tent camp.
Day 19: Trek to Mitling (950m.) it takes four hours walk and over night tent camp.
Day 20: Trek to Taplejung (1800m.) it takes five to six hours walk and over night tent camp.
Day 21/22: By local bus 22 hours, Private Lancruiser around 16 hours drive to Kathmandu but it depend of traffic on the way even some less hours then itinerary and over night hotel.
