Gokyo trekking is known as Gokyo valley trekking offers a spectacular opportunity to witness some of the highest peaks in the world, including Cho Oyu, Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu. The trek begins with a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, after which you can visit the Sagarmatha National Park to appreciate its protected flora and fauna. The trek from Lukla to Gokyo is dotted with picturesque stone houses and fields by the lakeside. On the second day, the trek to Namche Bazaar takes you through rhododendron (Nepal's national flower) and pine forests. Before reaching Namche, there's a viewpoint at Durbin Dada where you can see Everest flanked by Nuptse on the left and Lhotse on the right. Continuing the journey, you'll pass the first of the Gokyo Lakes, eventually reaching the third lake, which reflects the majestic face of Cho Oyu (8201m). Your final destination, Gokyo at 4800m, provides basic accommodations in a few tea houses. The journey from Namche Bazaar to Dole offers trekkers an opportunity to experience quieter trails and picturesque landscapes. Continuing the trek, trekkers pass through several village settlements, each offering a glimpse into the local culture and lifestyle. After reaching Machermo, a day of rest and acclimatization is scheduled, allowing trekkers to prepare for the higher altitudes ahead. From Machermo, the trek continues to Gokyo, following the left bank of the Dudh Koshi River and crossing the renowned Ngozumpa Glacier, the largest glacier in the Himalayas.
